45ème Edition !
ARMEN FESTIVAL: February 24 to March 5, 2023
Created in 1978, the ARMEN Festival is a renowned and popular event (sometimes more than 70 sailboats compete). The name “ARMEN”, a contraction of ARt MEr Neige, is of course also a nod to the lighthouse of the same name.
In addition to the rankings for each discipline: Sailing, Skiing and Art, there are three prizes that the competitors compete for:
The “André Hermann” Challenge: best combined ski-sailing ranking The “René Perrier” Challenge: best combined Art-Sailing ranking And of course, the Armen Trophy: best combined Art-Ski-Sail ranking
Note that this event is counted for the IRC Mediterranean crew ranking
THE MAIN PRINCIPLES OF THIS FESTIVAL :
- Honouring Art during the week of the Festival.
(A work of art must be created by one of the crew members of the participating sailboat on a theme defined in advance (See Art Contest Rules).
- A first weekend of regattas and if the weather allows it, the event consists of a different course for 2022: starting from Saint-Tropez, the sailboats will go to Le Lavandou with a return the next day.
- A ski race organized on Friday at Isola 2000.
- A second weekend of racing in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. This event is open to modern OSIRIS Habitable, IRC and Traditional yachts.
