In 2010, the Saint-Tropez offshore race was created by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez on a course that originally covered over 900 nautical miles.
Renamed in 2017, 2018 and 2020 “Au large de Saint-Tropez”, this event was open to crews, then to single-handed crews since 2015 and to double-handed crews since 2016 with a choice of 400 or 600 nautical mile courses.
In 2023, PAPREC becomes the title partner of this beautiful offshore race offering a unique course of 600 nautical miles in the Mediterranean. The event is thus renamed “Paprec 600 Saint-Tropez »
The Paprec 600 Saint Tropez race, which is open to IRC-rated boats, crewed, double-handed and solo, will start in front of the town of Saint Tropez on 24 May 2023!
As every year, after a thorough check of the files and safety equipment of the competing boats, the Race Director, Georges Korhel, will gather the skippers before the start of the race. The direction of rotation and the direction of the race will be chosen by the organiser according to the weather conditions during this briefing.
It may be shortened and modified before or during the event.
Departure from Saint-Tropez, Ile du Levant to port, Bouches de Bonifacio, Isola di Giannutri, Isola d’Elbe, Isola Gallinara, Ile du Levant to starboard, arrival in Saint-Tropez.
Renowned by all, this event offers a breathtaking course with surprising weather conditions… Enough to attract all those who love the open sea!
A sporting race and a very good training for some professionals or amateurs of Transatlantic races in view of other big events like the Vendée Globe, the Transquadra, the Figaro, the Route du Rhum, the Transat Jacques Vabre, etc. Note that this event also counts for the Mediterranean Offshore IRC Championship and is a selective competition for Class 40 transatlantic races.
