30 years ago, the Trophée Pourchet was set up in parallel and was not intended to be like the others, but as Robert Pourchet, a member of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez and a leatherworker by trade, wished it to be. It was a weekend event limited to 30 invited boats. It began with a family paella on Saturday lunchtime, before a few tacks in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. A second round on Sunday, this time without any preliminary agape, was used to establish the rankings for the two days. A friendly, family-style prize-giving ceremony brought the event to a close. Each participant, winner or not, went home with a souvenir prize. Every year since then, mid-August has been the occasion for a convivial family celebration. Since 2020, thanks to the participation of the children and grandchildren of Robert Pourchet (V.S.C), the event has continued with two days of racing, a Saturday evening at the Club and the prize-giving ceremony.
