Bravades regatta in the pure tradition

On Sunday 14 May 2023, more than sixteen sailing boats took part in the Bravades regatta. A tradition for many years to mark the Votive Festival of Saint-Tropez and to honour the Patron Saint. With a mixed weather and a light wind of 10 to 12 knots, the race committee led by Jean-Pierre and Mireille Epoudry was able to launch a beautiful race in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The competitors completed several laps. During the prize-giving ceremony at the Club house of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, in the presence of its President, Pierre Roinson, the winners received cups from the City of Saint-Tropez as well as prizes from the Cave Torpez.

In the OSA group, the members of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez distinguished themselves: Serge Ehrhardt’s MIKALA won the event, Bastien de Brouwer’s XANTUS and Alexandre Brion’s TIKITOO. César Chuffart’s BANDIT finished first in the OSB group ahead of Jean-Paul Deville’s ORION and Philippe Sommerer’s REINE DES ANGES.

Next event for the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, the great Mediterranean ocean race: PAPREC 600 Saint-Tropez, which already has 27 boats in the running, including six Class 40s and many solo or double-handed racers!

Another great race to follow….
