In the wake of Robert Pourchet 30 years on!
The Trophée Robert Pourchet at ZAPPY S
Divided into two groups, twenty-five yachts were competing in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez on 19 and 20 August 2023.
All the ingredients were there, and there was “the sky, the sun and the sea… a great atmosphere, especially during the traditional crew party with family and friends.”
It was only the wind that turned down the invitation to this summer event, which was celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. So the race committee led by Jean-Pierre Epoudry and the President of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez decided to organise a boules competition at the last minute on the Place des Lices. The Boule Tropézienne association immediately responded by brilliantly organising this impromptu competition. Christian Nelias’ TROPICAL team was the winner, ahead of Pierre Roinson’s Team LADY JO and Véronique Fogel’s Team MARICA.
At the prize-giving ceremony, attended by Saint-Tropez town councillors Laurent Petit and Christopher Leroy, the winners and all the participants were rewarded. The attractive Robert Pourchet Trophy was awarded to the youngest crew member in the fleet aboard Christophe Wargny’s ZAPPY S.
It’s a great event that the whole family of Robert and France Pourchet (their children, Eric and Maud Pourchet, and their grandchildren, Arthur and Stéphanie) are keeping alive by contributing to the event and maintaining the same festive, family spirit!
During the meal, a tribute was paid to Annie Wilhelm of the boat FIDJI, who passed away recently. An active member of the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez and a loyal supporter of the event, her family took part in this year’s event.
