47° Festival ArMeN in Saint-Tropez

Sailing, Skiing and Art . 47th edition from 1 to 9 March 2025

Even though the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez’s annual regatta season kicks off on 15 and 16 February with the Interclub Challenge, the Armen Festival, an event eagerly awaited by sailors from all over the region and beyond, will take off on 1 March 2025 and run until 9 March!

This event, created in 1978, combines sailing, skiing and art, offering an art event, a skiing event and two weekends of racing, including a round trip between Saint-Tropez and Cavalaire. For art lovers, the magnificent art exhibition organised by Cécile de Kock and bringing together several painters and sculptors from the region will take place from 28 February to 9 March 2025 at the Salle Jean Despas in Saint-Tropez. The ski race will take place in Auron on 7 March. More than sixty crews will be competing for various prizes, including the ‘André Hermann’ Challenge for the best combined ski-sailing ranking, the ‘René Perrier’ Challenge for the best combined art-sailing ranking and, of course, the Armen Trophy for the best combined art-ski-sailing ranking. And let’s not forget the rankings for each discipline, including sailing, which is counted towards the Mediterranean IRC championship by the Yacht Club de France’s racing division.

The 47th edition of the ArMeN festival, an event which takes its name from the words Art, Sea and Snow, will open the ball of major events organised by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez. On the Art side, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures will be held at the Salle Jean Despas in Saint-Tropez during the week of the Festival, from 28 February to 9 March 2025. Organised by Cécile de Kock, a renowned sculptor, the exhibition will feature other top-quality painters and sculptors.

The first task of each team (one crew member per boat) will be to create a work of art based on this year’s theme: ‘FISH AND CECTI’, as a tribute to the recently released Paul Watson.

All the creations will be on display from 1 to 9 March at the Salle Jean Despas in Saint-Tropez, where the public can vote for their favourite.

The first weekend of racing will take place on March 1 and 2, starting from Saint-Tropez. Competitors will head for Cavalaire sur Mer, where a warm welcome awaits them at the Cavalaire Yacht Club, before setting off again for Saint-Tropez the following day.

The Mercantour resort of Auron will then welcome the participants for a skiing event on 7 March.

Two crew members from each yacht will take part in the skiing event on a slalom course at Isola 2000. The best time of the two will determine the overall ranking.

Finally, the second weekend of regattas, on 8 and 9 March, will feature courses in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
